Ibaraki Prefecture is one of the leading rice-producing areas in Japan, blessed with green mountains and fields such as Mt. Tsukuba and Mt. Yamizo, lakes and marshes such as Lake Kasumigaura and Lake Kitaura, and abundant water resources such as the Tone River, Kokai River, and Kinugawa River. Ibaraki's weather conditions, which are ideal for growing rice, with plenty of rain in June, sunny days in July and August, and dry air in September, produce delicious rice.

The rice fields, located in this blessed climate, have not only been used to produce rice but have also protected the natural environment and the rural landscape of their hometown.
Ibaraki's "Koshihikari" rice has the perfect combination of luster, firmness, and stickiness, and the more you chew it the sweeter and more flavorful it becomes.

Koshihikari rice from Ibaraki Prefecture received an A rating in the taste ranking* for rice produced in 2024 by the Japan Grain Inspection Association. *This is not an evaluation of the product itself.
